I have spent the last month enjoying family and reflecting on the past year rather than posting empty content. I’m making some changes to my blog and hope you will follow along as I find my way through 2018.
To tide you over until the real content comes, here’s a phone case worth checking out.
!My old clear Otterbox had become discolored and needed to be tossed. It was at least a year old so it was time to buy a fresh case.
My friend told me to look at Spiegen cases. I had seen this case on Amazon before and thought about getting it, but hearing my friend praise that brand sealed the deal.
It was only $13.99! It’s an awesome deal and the quality is surprisingly good. Almost Otterbox level good. I’m very pleased with this purchase.
My family doesn’t really celebrate birthdays, but this year my sister’s engagement party fell on my birthday weekend and it was actually really great. I love parties and people don’t have birthday parties anymore. That needs to change.
We also don’t really do presents so it was really cool that I had a stack of presents to open. It really felt like Christmas.
I did something different this year. I sent out a link to an Amazon wish list so folks could get ideas for presents. As someone who has to come up with gifts for other people my age, it’s tough! Amazon makes it so easy to create and share products lists and I’m glad I gave it a try. From my wish list, I received the following:
- Amazon Basics Sound Bar: I have a really great TV, but the sound is really terrible. This Amazon Basics Sound Bar has changed that. It plugs in and clearly tells you what to do to the settings on your TV and it sounds great. It even connects to devices via bluetooth.
- Hunter Boot Inserts: I love my Hunter boots and wear them a lot. I have been layering many pairs of socks to keep my feet warm in them during the winter and these inserts keep me from having to do that. The cold comes straight up through the soles so this will provide a warm barrier between me and the ground. I can’t wait to wear them!
- Maglite LED flashlight: I needed a flashlight. I wanted a fancy flashlight. Why not make it red? I really love this flash light. Is that weird?
I continually update my Amazon wish list and if you would like to take a peek, click here.
I hoaned in on one item to purchase during Amazon’s Prime Day this year.
I have a lot of friends who have Bose bluetooth speakers and the sound is fantastic. I have a set of speakers that I love, but they must be plugged into the wall and I have been looking to buy a nice portable speaker for some time now.
Originally $199.00, this speaker was reduced to $179.00 and then an additional $50.00 off for Amazon Prime Day. With tax and free shipping, I only paid $137.71. That’s a pretty good deal! I can’t wait to begin using it!
I found myself in need of a fresh day to day black dress to wear under jackets at work. It’s so difficult to find dresses that hit at the knee these days so I was thrilled to find one for such a reasonable price on Amazon.
This Lark & Roe dress was only $59.50!
It’s washable and I didn’t even have to iron it after washing. Such an easy dress for those mornings when you just need to grab and go.
I caved out of curiosity and purchased a black mask product to try.
Right off the bat I found a spelling error on the packaging. That set my expectations pretty low.
I went on and used the product as directed and was pleasantly surprised!
I am not particularly happy with the size of the pores on my nose. They catch everything and look dirty so I was excited to try this out on my nose. I figured that would be where I would see the best results and I was right. Some of what you see on the mask is hair, the rest is tiny bits of goop that was in my pores. Not bad!
I experienced zero skin irritation or discoloration, which was a huge relief. With cheap and trendy products like these, you never know what you are getting. It didn’t hurt at all either. Not in the least. After using the product on my nose, I used it on my chin. I’ll probably continue to use the product in small areas rather than applying it to my whole face at once.
Overall I’m pretty happy with this product. It was only $12.99 so there was little to lose in giving it a try. As a backup I also purchased Biore Charcoal Nose Strips. I have used these in the past, but can’t find them in stores way out where I live so I had to order more. They work well too if you would prefer a less messy product.
I have been continuously frustrated with the short lead of my standard issue Apple device chargers. I want to be able to plug in and move around!
Last week I ordered a few charging cords on Amazon. This pack of 3 was only $11.99 and the cards are all 10 feet long. They arrived in the mail on Wednesday and I am positively thrilled!
I gave one to a friend and still have one to carry in my work tote and one to keep at home. Now I can lounge comfortably in my bed or on my sofa with my device without having to contort to face the direction of a plug. I could actually jump rope with these cables!
If you are fed up with short charging cords for your apple devices, get these now while the promotion lasts!
Now this may gross you out, but my stove is pretty old. I rent an old cottage that was originally a barn and the appliances are the good ol’ white stuff.
I have done everything I can think of to restore the burner pans and, trust me, they have come along way but they still aren’t fully clean. I don’t like cooking on dirty surfaces. To me it’s like brushing your teeth over a filthy sink.
Amazon to the rescue!
I found these burner pans for only $10.61 and it took my stove from this…
Here’s a closeup of one of the old pans next to the new ones.
Gross, I know.
Is it weird that just this little change makes me so so happy?
